Built for availability on passenger or parcel trains. It has two luggage sections with a partitioned off off central guards compartment in between. A curious feature is the body planking arranged in pairs of wide and narrow 3.5 and 6.5 planks respectively

Designated “Van C” by Southern Railway and “BY” by British Railways

Purchased from BR in June 1977, it was located on the KESR (Kesr no 6) until transfer to the Rother Vlley Railway in 1997.
