Incredibly this vehicle started life as standard 12 ton Ventilated Van (designated Vanfit)

It was latterly in use as a store at East Wimbledon depot

It was aquired by the Kent and East Sussex Railway and in 1978 it was converted by their carriage and Wagon department into a 3 plank full dropside Wagon (KESR 122) using sides and wheels canibalised from other vehicles. It was subsequently fitted with a vacuum brake in in Sept 1983.
