Aspirations

The RVR aspires to connect the Kent & East Sussex Railway to the main line at Robertsbridge by rebuilding the Railway along as much of the original trackbed route as possible.

The Connection

We are working to reconnect Robertsbridge with Bodiam, providing a link from the main line with the Kent & East Sussex Railway (KESR), boosting tourism in the Rother Valley area and helping to relieve traffic congestion and pollution.

Our goal is that once again passengers will be able to travel by train from the main line at Robertsbridge to visit the beautiful and established tourist attractions at Bodiam and the ancient town of Tenterden.

Although our goal is very clear, our way to get there is fraught with all the usual barriers which beset and challenge Heritage Railways.
