The brand new Station Building at Robertsbridge is now complete!
To celebrate, you are invited to join us for an Open Day:
Entrance is FREE but we would welcome a donation to continue Phase II – building the Locomotive Shed – ready for our reconnection with the Kent & East Sussex Railway.
We encourage visitors to bring a packed lunch or make the most of the excellent village stores and bakery nearby. While we don’t yet have full catering on-site, our volunteers will be happily serving tea, coffee and a selection of sandwiches (whilst stocks last!) in the station building, available to purchase during your visit.
Thanks to the support and sponsorship of partners from across the railway industry, the Hastings Diesel will provide train rides between Robertsbridge Junction and Northbridge Street, giving visitors a rare opportunity to experience this section of the line by train. This train is a Diesel-Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) that worked on the London Charing Cross – Hastings route under British Rail between 1957 and 1986. After retirement, it was preserved by Hastings Diesels Limited (HDL), whom we are proud to partner with for this event.
Please note: Car parking at Robertsbridge is limited and/or chargeable. On this occasion, we have not arranged connecting transport between Robertsbridge and the Kent & East Sussex Railway, so please do make your own way to us – utilising public transport where possible.
